What a day. The 24th Annual J.R. Roberts Memorial Team Bass Challenge is history. Once again Lake Bruin and the fine group of anglers that fish this event each year proved to be the top producers of largemouth bass. The Memorial draws some of the very best tournament fishermen in the state.. Conditons were at the worse...High water...Muddy water...Cold water.....No sun....and a cold wind...Regarless>>>This lake and this fine group of anglers produced some heavy weight limits of bass.

We still didn't see the numerous 20 to 25 pound 5 bass limits of the past but a couple teams smacked 'em... William Hatton and Charles Rhinehart were in the 'zone' culling out to a 5 bass limit weighing a very respectable 22.42#'s to take 1st place. CONGRATS! Hatton stuck a 7.00 FL strain kicker w/Rhinehart on the net and took the big bass money as well. Many of us predicted it would take two kickers and 3 chunks to win and it did. The winners had a 6 and a 7 kicker. The deadly duo took home over 4 grand.

The big bass money was smacked with a 7.00, 6.15, 5.40, 5.40 (tie). 3 or 4 days of sunshine is all we need to really start seeing more heavy weigh sacks. I recall the yr in this event when it took 19#'s to make 10th place and 27 to win. All we need is some sun and it's on!

Thanks to all for once again making this event the largest tournament in the area.

There is a host of pictures in the forums...in the Lounge. 91 teams fished. Yall are a great group of anglers and worked me pretty hard at the scale.
