Amazing at the fish caught considering such a tough day. Once again Lake Bruin proves to be the very best lake in this area. 76 Teams/152 contestants. Large crowd at weigh-in.
236 bass weighed in (all alive). Total weight 583.49 pounds!!!! AMAZING considering the conditons. Some chose not to weigh that had 2, 3 or 4 fish....45 five bass limits! Average weight: 2.47 pounds.Ten bass over 4 pounds. Largest 5.69, 5.50, 4.87, 4.70, 4.65, 4,32, 4.12, 4.06, 4.03, 4.01
All fish weighed were alive..Four bass died after release. Examined those four fish. They had the bends. Came from deep water. Air bladder was full. All 4 were females loaded with eggs. That means the sows were>>>DEEP!
Winning patterns: The norm for this event. Some of the winning fish came from 3 to 5 feet but most culled by fishing in 19 to 21 feet. Winners John May of Calhoun, LA/Joe Dycus of Monroe.
Winning Lure: Jigs with Zoom, Zoom Brush Hawgs, and other soft plastics. I have another shipment of Elk River jigs coming this week as well. Still have about 200 in stock now...More A-Rigs coming too. I caught two bass on the A-Rig while messing around waiting for the weigh-in. I'm hooked. I'll have more in stock this week...
